It's worth renting, but I expected to like this better - they look good once they get moving... Problem is, although it covers many of the standard basic moves - basic in place, side basic, progressive, outside partner, crossover break, outside body lead, open break with underarm turn, and the chase turn - they don't do it with a lot of energy or great music. (It's Cha-Cha, how it that possible?) Honestly, if someone doesn't "know" the Cha-Cha, as in knowing the music and timing and styling, etc. then showing them only "how the moves are done" isn't going to prepare anyone to dance in the real world. It's like learning to drive from only watching a video and taking a written test! Uhhh, noooo... This dvd, like most, needs more demonstrations of the actual dance, at least three music samples, and something more than a "wrap up" review of what "they" just covered on the dvd. Again, this is a common failing of most "how to" dvds. Nothing wrong with what they show here; it's the things they don't show that get the points off. Here's what you can do... Watch the summaries of all the moves taught first, then go back and watch each move shown. Then, find some music of different speeds - beats per minute - and give it a try. Repeat as necessary. Then go dance out on the floor and have fun dancing, not wondering!
