Can I really learn to dance from a dance video?
Absolutely! The main thing you don’t get with dance instruction on video is feedback from an instructor.
How does renting from DanceFlix work?
Once you become a member, you can select your dance DVDs from our online catalog. We deliver the DVDs to your home by first-class U.S. Mail service. Shipping is free, both ways. Keep the DVDs as long as you like, there are no due dates or late fees. When you're done, simply return the DVDs in the prepaid mailer and we’ll send you the next one.
How much does it cost?
Plans start at $14.99 for 1 DVD out at-a-time, $24.99 for 2 DVDs out at-a-time and $32.99 for 3 DVDs out at-a-time.
How many DVDs can I have out at once?
You can have anywhere from 1 DVD to 3 DVDs out depending on your plan. Visit our Plans and Pricing page for more information.
How long can I keep a DVD?
You can keep the DVDs as long as you like so long as you’re an active member. There are no due dates or late fees.
Will my Blu-ray player play your DVDs?
Yes, Blu-ray players play DVDs as well as Blu-ray discs.
Are you a BBB Accredited Business?

Billing
How does billing work?
Rental plans are billed every 30 days from your anniversary date. Your account will be charged until you cancel your membership and return all outstanding DVDs.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept credit cards from Visa, MasterCard and American Express.
Shipping
How much is shipping?
Shipping is free both-ways by first class U.S. Mail service.
How long does it take to get my videos?
Our shipping facility is centrally located near Chicago, Illinois. DVDs usually arrive within 2-4 business days to anywhere in the U.S., however shipping times may vary.
Where do you ship to?
DanceFlix ships to all 50 states and U.S. Territories, including Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Marianas and the Virgin Islands. We also ship to APO, FPO, and DPO addresses. Due to the far distance of these locations, delivery times may take several additional days.
How do you handle shipping problems?
If you encounter any shipping delays or lost/damaged DVDs, please login to your account and go to "My Queue" to notify us. You may also email us at info@danceflix.com or through our "Contact Us" page. We will do our best to resolve the issue.
What if I misplace the protective sleeve and/or the prepaid mailer?

Memberships
When I tried to sign up I get a “username already exists” error?
Your email address is your unique username. If you get this message, you may have already registered with us. Please try and login to your existing account.
I can’t I login to my account?
Please check your username and password carefully. Your username is the email address you used to sign up. Your password is case sensitive so make sure the “caps lock” button is not on. If that still doesn’t work, use the "forgot password" link.
How do I change my membership plan?
To change your plan, login to your account. Select "My Rental Plan" in the left-hand column. On the next screen, select "Change Plan" to upgrade or downgrade your membership. Your plan will automatically change on your next billing date.
Is my credit card information secure?
Yes! Our servers use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) 256-bit encryption technology. This safeguards your personal and credit card information as it is transmitted over the Internet. To know its working, the “padlock” icon along with a green "https" will appear in your browser. You can click the icon to view details that verify you are sending the information securely to us.
I tried to sign up, but I’m getting a “payment declined” message?
Please ensure you are entering the correct credit card information. If that still doesn’t work, please call your credit card company or maybe try another card.
Rental Queue
How does the rental queue work?
The rental queue is your list of DVDs you wish to rent. You can update your list as needed.
The DVD I want says “Not Available”?
This indicates the DVD is currently out-of-stock. We have many copies of our DVDs, but some are in high demand. It's best to place the DVDs you want in your queue as soon as possible.
I’m looking for a specific DVD, but I don’t see it in your catalog?
Be sure to use the “search” box on the home page. You can search by title, instructor or dance style. If you would like us to carry a certain dance video, please let us know by emailing us at info@danceflix.com and we will do our best to acquire it.
What is Express Returns?
Express Returns™ is a feature we offer to help you get your DVDs faster. This feature is offered as a courtesy and does not obligate us to ship your next DVD. Using it allows us to reserve and prepare your next DVD for shipment. Members may notify us when a DVD has been returned after 7 days. Express Returns™ can be accessed under the "My Rentals" tab, after logging in.
Reactivate Account
How do I reactivate my account?
To reactivate your account, go to the following link: Reactivate Account. After entering your former login and password, you will need to enter your credit card information. Next, navigate to "My Rental Plan" to select a rental plan. For your security, we do not store credit card information for our inactive members.
I've reactivated my account, but it says I have no plan and I can't add DVDs to my queue?
Ensure that you have added a credit card to your account by navigating to the "Credit Card" tab in the member area. Next, navigate to the "My Rental Plan" tab and click on the "Change Plan" button to select a plan. After you've selected a plan you should be able to begin adding DVDs to your rental queue.
I'm still having problems reactivating my account?
Ensure that your credit card information is correct by navigating to the "Credit Card" tab in the Member Area and trying to select a plan again. If it still doesn't work, please contact us so we can help.
Damaged/Lost DVDs
What if I lose or damage the DVD?
If a DVD has been lost or damaged while in your possession, you will be charged for the DVD. You can notify us by logging into your account and going to the "My Queue" section or email at info@danceflix.com or through our "Contact Us" page.
What if the DVD arrives damaged?
You will not be charged if the DVD arrives damaged. Notify us within 24 hours of receipt and send back the DVD in the prepaid mailer.
It’s been over 7 days and still no DVD?
If the U.S. Postal Service lost the DVD, you will not be responsible. Notify us so we may ship you a replacement DVD. If the DVD eventually turns up, please return the DVD to us in the pre-paid envelope.
Theft of our DVDs is mail fraud, which is a felony that carries a sentence up to five years in prison and/or fines up to $250,000. U.S. Postal Inspectors investigate any crime in which the U.S. Mail is used to commit fraud. If evidence of a postal violation exists, Postal Inspectors may seek to prosecute the violator.

The DVD skips or won’t play?
Try taking a lint free cloth and wiping the DVD gently from the center outwards, as you would for cleaning eyeglasses. Please do not use a circular motion when wiping your DVDs, as this could cause damage. We routinely clean and inspect all returned DVDs for dirt and smudges, but things happen and we do apologize for your inconvenience.
How should the DVDs be handled?
Please handle our DVDs with care. They are very durable, however, we ask that you take some simple precautions and exercise basic care to help us maintain the integrity of the disc. Please handle the DVD by its outer edge to prevent fingerprints on the surface of the disc. Do not use any type of solution on the disc, and never keep them in direct sunlight or heat. Always keep the discs in its protective sleeve when not in use.

How do I purchase a gift certificate?
To purchase a gift certificate, click on the Buy Gift Certificate graphic on the home page and follow the links.
How do I redeem a gift certificate?
To redeem your gift certificate, go to the Buy Gift Certificate page and enter the voucher code. You must be at least 18 years old, have a valid credit card, email address and agree to our Terms of Use. Your credit card is only charged if you use our service beyond the gift subscription period.
Tell-a-friend
How do I get a free month of service?
Active members get 1 month of FREE service anytime someone they refer signs up. Members must use the "Tell a Friend" email form to qualify, and your friend cannot already have an existing account. When they stay remain a member one month past the first month, we'll credit your account with a free month of service.
If you don’t have a DanceFlix account, you can still use the tell-a-friend feature. You may not qualify for the free month of service, but you’ll be helping your friends by telling them about our invaluable service.

Cancellation
How do I cancel my membership?
Login to your account, then select "My Rental Plan" in the left-hand column. On the next screen, select "Cancel Membership" to submit a cancellation request. Any outstanding rentals need to be returned within 7 days.
How do I reactivate my account?
To reactivate your account, click here. You will need your old username and password. After your account is reactivated, be sure to update your credit card information and select a plan to get started.
Legal
Can I copy the DVD while I’m renting it?
Absolutely not. Only the copyright owner can legally copy the DVD. Federal law provides severe criminal penalties for unauthorized copying. Criminal copyright infringement is investigated by the FBI and may constitute a felony with a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison and/or a $250,000 fine. We cooperate fully with any copyright infringement investigation.
Can I publicly display the video at my dance event or vendor table?
No. The DVDs you rent from us cannot be legally displayed publicly without permission from the copyright owner. These are called “performance rights” and are not granted to DVD purchasers or renters. Neither DanceFlix, nor the renter, are allowed to publicly display the DVD video. To do so is unlawful.
Can you legally rent out DVDs?
Yes. Just like Blockbuster, Netflix, Redbox and your corner video store, it is perfectly legal to rent out lawfully acquired, original copies of DVDs. This is clearly outlined by the first-sale doctrine of the U.S. Copyright Act.

Can you legally use images of DVDs on your website?
Yes, we are allowed to provide thumbnail images of DVD images on our website. This is allowed under the “Fair Use” provision of the U.S. Copyright Act.
